This is a seriously collectible neon sign as it is a Budweiser beer sign but it also commemorates the 1989 Rolling Stones tour. It was made November 2, 1989 and is still mounted on the shipping board and in the original shipping box. It is too fragile for shipping and is available for local pick up only. This sign/clock has been above my dad's bar at homestead since 1989 and I just took it down to clean it up to sell. I have not opened it but cleaned outside and it looks great. All pieces in tact but clock does not work. The lights even went on briefly! I pulled out some staples that were thru the cord when it was hung up and that made the lights then flicker out. At least it shows lights working but could use a new cord as has some holes from the staples in it. It is so cool!! “ THE ORIGINAL PARTY ANIMAL” This particular light that has "Spuds Mackenzie" written on the t-shirt is a first edition designed specifically for bars and restaurants. The newer mass-produced versions of these lights do not have "Spuds Mackenzie" on the t-shirt. It's in great shape for being almost 37 years old. The paint still looks vibrant and the wires and sockets are in good shape. It takes two candelabra bulbs. This would make a neat conversation piece! Some history of Spuds Mackenzie: The dog was portrayed by a female bull terrier named Honey Tree Evil Eye, or Evie for short (October 7, 1983 – May 31, 1993). Evie was from Woodstock, Illinois, and lived in North Riverside, Illinois, with her owner's family, where she later died of kidney failure in 1993. Anheuser-Busch sponsored many dogs from the kennel in Illinois where Evie was born.The Spuds McKenzie ad campaign was not without its share of controversy. Shortly after Spuds' rise to fame, it was learned that the dog, portrayed as male in the ads, was actually female.
