Extremely scarce, circa 1890s ruby red glass barware caddy in absolutely beautiful condition. Glass has no cracks, chips, breaks or otherwise and features etched into it's surface advertising for C.F. Schmidt's, Budweiser and the Indianapolis Brewing Company of which both beers were brewed at the time. Features twisted metal handle and railing with near zero loss to surface or issue. I've only seen one similar which was a slight variation for the Anheuser Busch Brewing Assn, a rare item indeed! Would be quite the statement piece to your pre-prohibition beer/liquor collection. Rare Spuds Mackenzie Bud Light Beer Bar Lamp Dog Blow Mold Anheuser Busch ? USA!!!!1987 Spuds Mackenzie Bar Light. It is so cool!! “ THE ORIGINAL PARTY ANIMAL” This particular light that has "Spuds Mackenzie" written on the t-shirt is a first edition designed specifically for bars and restaurants. The newer mass-produced versions of these lights do not have "Spuds Mackenzie" on the t-shirt. It's in great shape for being almost 37 years old. The paint still looks vibrant and the wires and sockets are in good shape. It takes two candelabra bulbs. This would make a neat conversation piece! Some history of Spuds Mackenzie: The dog was portrayed by a female bull terrier named Honey Tree Evil Eye, or Evie for short (October 7, 1983 – May 31, 1993). Evie was from Woodstock, Illinois, and lived in North Riverside, Illinois, with her owner's family, where she later died of kidney failure in 1993. Anheuser-Busch sponsored many dogs from the kennel in Illinois where Evie was born.The Spuds McKenzie ad campaign was not without its share of controversy. Shortly after Spuds' rise to fame, it was learned that the dog, portrayed as male in the ads, was actually female. Politicians and advocacy groups criticized the ads for promoting consumption of alcohol by children. Soon after the ads first aired in 1987, Senator Strom Thurmond began his own media campaign, claiming that the beer maker was using Spuds to appeal to children in order to get them interested in their product at an early age. By Christmas 1987, more legal action resulted from Bud Light's use of ads featuring Spuds dressed as Santa, which is illegal in states such as Ohio. In 1989, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, alleged that Anheuser-Busch was pitching the dog to children. Came out of American Legion Hall building in Iowa mounted to the Bar Walk-in Cooler. 50% of proceeds from sale goes back to the american legion. Comes with all hoses and hookups to mount to a walk in cooler wall or man cave. It is 18" x 18" and sticks out from wall approximately 10" to tappers. It has two nice stainless steel taps with Beautiful Bow tie clear handles. Also included is a Stainless Steel drip tray which measures 17"w x 12"d x 4"h Not sure on age but was told it had been there for at least 50 years. Good condition with no chips or cracks, one of the ashtrays has a small manufacturing flaw on the lip under the glaze. I have never seen this set.
