Up for your consideration is a vintage original 1944 Anheuser Busch wooden box or crate. This is not a reproduction, this is the original crate from 1944. It has the Budweiser logo along with the date 1944 stamped on it. It still has the original alcohol tax stickers on it too, see pictures. It has two cloth strips for hinges on the lid. Also this crate is quite a bit heavier than the reproductions. Quite the rare find. Approximate Measurements The box measures 18" x 11 1/2" x 10" wide. 7.5 pounds Markings Anheuser Busch, Property, St Louis Mo, 1944, (plus much more) Condition The box is in fair to good condition. The lid is wrapped, see pictures. The wood has moderate to severe staining, nicks, scratches and discoloration, see pictures. Examine the photos closely. Up for sale is a 1944 Anheuser Busch Property Budweiser Wood Beer Bottle Box 17 3/4" x 11 3/4" Crate St Louis MO. Shows wear from age. Item condition as pictured.
I will do my best to describe what I see. It weighs over 3 lbs. It is bottom heavy so it won't tip over. There are also 2 stickers on that side one being red and very worn so the only word I can read is "CHICAGO" and the other is a sticker that notes 'UNION MADE' and a serial number of '775-916' and next to that it notes "44" in deep black and that is why I believe this is from 1944 in addition to materials and plug.
THIS IS A HIGH QUALITY ITEM MADE IN BRAZIL FOR BUDWEISER AND IT HAS AN AMAZING LOOK AND FEEL! THE BOX SHOWS SHELF WEAR WITH ONE CORNER CRUNCHED SLIGHTLY (LAST PHOTO). THIS DID NOT AFFECT THE STEIN IN ANY WAY.
